SAIF President Jim Auld, of Helensburgh’s James Auld Funeral Directors, dropped in to record an episode of the Partnership Podcast this month.
With one month to go, Jim used his 10 minutes to reflect with Malcolm Flanders on his “busy” but “very, very enjoyable” presidential year.
Jim singled out the Cremation Society’s DBCE conference as a highlight, saying: “That’s something that we as funeral directors maybe don’t always engage enough with. Cemeteries and crematoria are a key supplier and we should probably engage with them better, so that was one of the highlights of the year.”
Jim also called out the upcoming SAIF AGM as a way to ensure funeral directors understand the realities of upcoming regulation, and talked in depth about the importance of association membership and the range of support on offer to independent funeral directors.
