Northamptonshire Body Removals information event
Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) is looking to appoint a contractor from 1 June 2017 until 31 March 2020 for the removal of bodies where a death has been referred to H.M. Coroner.
An information event for the tender of the Body Removals contract will take place on 14 March from 10am to 12pm at Northamptonshire Police Force Headquarters, Wootton Hall Park, Northampton NN4 0FL.
This is an opportunity to discuss what is being proposed and to put forward ideas before the council formally puts it out to tender.
Currently in Northamptonshire, bodies are removed to Northampton General Hospital, Kettering General Hospital and hospitals in Leicester. There are also circumstances where the supplier may be required to collect bodies from other areas not in the specified list above.
The council is looking to tender this requirement as geographical lots as follows:
• Wellingborough
• East Northamptonshire,
• Kettering and Corby Northampton
• Daventry and South Northamptonshire
The county council reserves the right to award a number of contracts such as award more than one contract. This is to be based on geographical areas of the county outlined above. People may apply to tender for more than one area.
