Introducer or Appointed Representative?
This year’s regulation mini-series on the Partnership Podcast ends by welcoming back past SAIF President Jim Auld, who has had a very different journey towards Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulation from previous guests.
While the last two funeral directors Malcolm Flanders spoke to favoured becoming Appointed Representatives (ARs) from the start, Jim, as a sole trader, leaned towards the Introducer Appointed Representative (IAR) route. He talks to Malcolm about the benefits and drawbacks, including potential changes to how he talks with families, and discusses where his thinking has since led him.
