5% boost to members

Membership growth

SAIF membership has been boosted by around 5% following Golden Charter’s campaign to promote trade association membership.

Forty-five firms have already joined SAIF, with a further 39 applications submitted.

Including applications still in progress and those who opted to join another recognised association, Golden Charter has helped more than 130 Independents move into professional association membership.

Suzanne Grahame said in the last SAIFInsight: “SAIF membership helps families by defining standards and a code of practice and vitally it helps those funeral directors have their own voices heard, and further strengthens and unifies the independent profession, putting everyone in a stronger position to face regulation.

“This growth also stands out to me because it reflects Independents’ focus on the importance of defined standards for customers, and your shared values.”

By only working with members of a recognised trade association, Golden Charter ensures the families it serves can expect a defined standard of service. Working with SAIF also provides Independents with the opportunity to access the additional benefits of SAIFCharter membership. So far, 21 new SAIF members have gone on to join SAIFCharter.

Adam Ginder, the Chairman of SAIFCharter, said: “I welcome the jump in membership this year because every member brings us closer to truly representing the breadth of funeral directors across the UK.

“As Independents, big, small, old or new, each of us should have an equal voice in steering the future of funeral planning.

“That’s what SAIFCharter is all about, and I’m delighted these new members want to be a part of that.”
