Hundreds attend annual service of remembrance

Hundreds of people came together in Reading for the annual Service of Remembrance organised by funeral director A B Walker.

In an emotional service held at Reading Minster of St Mary the Virgin, candles were lit in memory of loved ones who died. The service was led by the Bishop of Reading, the Rt Revd Andrew Proud.

A B Walker is one of Berkshire’s oldest family businesses and has been supporting bereaved families for nearly two centuries.

Matthew Walker, Director of A B Walker, said: “This service is an occasion of togetherness and allows us to reflect on love and lives shared.”

A B Walker is run by the fifth generation of the same family and has been part of the community in Berkshire for nearly 200 years. There are branches in Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, Henley-on-Thames, Thatcham, Caversham and Maidenhead.
