Becoming a digital plan provider

Golden Charter has replaced postal plan summaries with a digital process on mygoldencharter.co.uk in response to funeral director feedback.

Weekly email summaries of new plans ensure funeral director partners are prompted to check the documents. Paper summaries are now only posted when a customer makes changes to their plan. This is also expected to change in the future, as the provider continues its journey to become a more digital business.

Stuart McWhinnie, Chief Technology Officer, said: “When I joined Golden Charter this year I wanted to build on how we use technology to support more digitally focused customers, driving forward technological change to help us grow by meeting changing customer needs.

“That has meant building on what we offer to customers online, and it means using technology to support funeral directors too. We’ll continue looking at what we can do to reduce paper, build even better systems, and be an efficient, innovative and supportive partner to independent funeral directors.”
