The Annual General Meeting will be convened and hosted by SAIF Executive Chairman Alun Tucker.

As well as the chance to elect new members of the Executive Committee you’ll be able to hear about important work carried out by SAIF that helps protect and enhance your business.

There will be the opportunity to meet with fellow funeral directors from across the UK and relax in superb surroundings.

Guest speaker Gordon Reid, world number one wheelchair tennis champion and double gold Paralympian.

Gordon, from Dunbartonshire in Scotland, comes from a talented tennis family and started playing the game at the age of six. However, he lost the use of his legs at the age of 13 after contracting transverse myelitis, a disease that affects the spinal cord. He took up the wheelchair version of the game and has since won multiple Grand Slam singles and doubles titles. Gordon has represented Great Britain at three Paralympic Games, winning gold at singles and doubles at Rio in 2016.

John Helps, Skingle, Helps & Co, will discuss succession planning.

John qualified as a Chartered Accountant more than 30 years ago and specialises in dealing with owner-managed businesses. Nineteen years ago, he established Skingle, Helps & Co. The firm deals with all aspects of tax and accountancy for individuals and owner-managed businesses. Having dealt with funeral directors over many years, he is familiar with their specific accounting needs including the associated pitfalls and peculiarities.

Victoria Beswick, Trident Marketing, will focus on ‘Making Marketing Work’.

Victoria is Managing Director of Trident Marketing, a family run business that has been established for 30 years. The company offers a full marketing service to clients across the UK. Victoria has been involved in the business for the past 10 years. Trident Marketing prides itself in understanding clients’ needs and developing realistic marketing plans that fulfil their purpose and stay within budget.
